Location: Miami, Florida (RELOCATION AVAILABLE)

Package: $90,000-140,000 + benefits + bonus

My client is seeking an Operations Manager (ideally with project logistics experience) to oversee and enhance its daily operational activities in Florida (this position has come about through organic company growth with a relatively new but established branch).

Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will be responsible for improving operational efficiency, managing department personnel, maintaining quality and compliance standards, and supporting the coordination of cargo movements from suppliers to project destinations.

The position would suit an experienced freight forwarding professional with operational leadership experience and a strong understanding of project logistics, shipment documentation and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the organization’s daily operations.
• Collaborating with senior management to align operational activity with wider business objectives.
• Reviewing existing workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Implementing best practices to streamline operations and reduce costs.
• Supervising, supporting and mentoring department personnel.
• Managing relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors and other operational partners.
• Supporting the arrangement of cargo transportation from suppliers to project destinations in line with customer or contractual requirements.
• Booking cargo with carriers and coordinating transport arrangements.
• Creating and checking export documentation.
• Ensuring project-specific requirements are identified and completed.
• Expediting orders and coordinating with suppliers to support delivery timelines.
• Arranging inland freight for ex-works collections.

Requirements:
• Experience in freight forwarding operations industry
• Experience in project logistics is a big plus
• Experience in a leadership position is a big plus
• Experience coordinating cargo movements from suppliers through to project destinations.
• Understanding of carrier bookings, inland freight, export documentation and shipment-file management.
• Dangerous Goods training and certification would be advantageous.
